Cold Environments: Landscapes and Change
This is your synoptic assessment. It is a 70 mark question with a research steer given 3 weeks before the examination.
The topic is split into 4 enquiry questions:
1) Defining and locating cold environments.
2) Climatic processes and their causes.
3) Distinctive landforms and processes: glacial and periglacial.
4) Challenges and opportunities: glacial and periglacial.
Cold environments focusses on Physical Geography. It investigates the location and nature of glacial and periglacial areas. It also examines why these areas are located where they are, and how climate change has affected these locations.
